K, time for one last look at the cosplay of New York Comic Con 2014. Yesterday’s tour came to a close while on the subject of video games, and guess what? There’s plenty more on that end. Kicking things off is a kid dressed as Crash Bandicoot. What really sells it for me is the pubestache, of course…

Yet another mash-up, this time Pokemon X Monster Hunter

Pokemon X/Y’s Team Flare; for a team that’s all about making the world a beautiful place to be, they’re at least holding up their part of the deal by looking quite dapper…

There’s a lot to love about this Smash Bros ensemble, from the Link’s tiny shield to the totality of Pac-Man…

Animal Crossing’s Villager photobombing hipster Skyward Sword Zelda…

Yet another Villager, this one being flat out laughed at by Isabelle, right in his face (guess he’s not handing his mayoral responsibilities very well)…

Majora’s Mask’s Link and Skull Kid…

These Ice Climbers are totally fab-u-lous…

A slightly unconventional Mario cosplayer…

Again, kinda shocked I haven’t seen this one before: someone cosplaying as Mario Kart’s blue shell…

Though the best Mario Kart cosplay of the show, without question, would have to be this trio…

Epic sax guy here was actually playing the song!

As someone who finds the whole Sharknado “craze” rather eye rolling, even I had to admit that I got a chuckle out of the following. Though if she’s actually part of the marketing machine, I take it back of course…

Speaking of powers that be, the folks who run NYAFF this year got high marks across the board for posting signs all over the place like this one (which was designed by Amy Reader)…

An android woman sans makeup…

I have absolutely no idea what this pair is all about, though It definitely feels anime-ish…

I have absolutely no idea what this pair is all about, part 2…

Once more, am totally clueless here; tried asking for clarification, but as you can you probably guess, the person was unable to field or answer questions…

99% of the cosplay you’ll see at NYCC or likewise is inspired some movie/tv show/book/comic/video game/etc. And the remaining 1% can be classified under “other”. In this particular case, the cosplayer was seemingly inspired by what was handy at the local 99-cent store…

And this dude was dressed this way to get attention for his web comic (and I totally forgot the URL, oops)…

Whereas this woman was cosplaying as mental patient, not for fun but as performance art or something like that. I was confused by the explanation…

Best Doctor Who cosplayer of the entire weekend…

I became aquatinted with Ebony Amber when she showed up one day, in this totally insane (and totally awesome) tribute to The Wizard of Oz in dress form…

… A closer look…

… Then the very next day, she was back as Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth!

Speaking of transformations, perhaps my absolute fave cosplay of the entire show was this kid as Grimlock who could actually transform…

Naturally the final Instagrammed cosplay pic I’m going to share is that of this guy…

… And with that, we’ve officially hit the halfway point of my NYCC 2014 recap! Yes, there’s that much more ground to cover. See you next Monday!

Can you believe that we’ve only reached the halfway point for this year’s NYCC cosplay round up alone? Last we left off, the focus was characters from American cartoons. So how about a few familiar faces from Japan? Like Goku, who has just murdered Superman…

There never seems to be a shortage of Dr. Slump cosplay, and for that, I am eternally thankful…

Biker Gang Sailor Moon also remains popular, which I am also very happy about…

One can never have enough Studio Ghibli cosplay, simple fact of life…

Puella Magi Madoka Magica‘s popularity among anime cosplayers took a dip this year, though it still had a presence…

Whereas there was plenty of Attack on Titan cosplay on hand…

But Kill La Kill had the slight edge in terms of popularity, even ahead of Titan believe it or not…

Easily the best Death Note cosplay I’ve ever personally encountered, without question…

I have zero idea who this is from, so I’m guessing League of Legends, right?

Red with her Transistor…

The star of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Part MCMLXXXVIII

OMG SANIC HEGEHOG GOTTA GO FAST!!!!!!

More Sonic and friends…

Perhaps my favorite version of Scorpion of them all, as he appears in Mortal Kombat: Legacy

Gender-bending, and LED equipped Raiden…

And gender-bending Sub Zero, or perhaps an official character, I can’t tell anymore…

Meanwhile, I do know enough about Street Fighter these days to know that Vega isn’t female, nor black. Though honestly, Capcom should strongly consider going towards such a direction…

May as well add in a gender-bending Dudley while you’re at it too…

Ran into mai Persona 4 waifu…

Also ran into my pal Liza as P4 Arena’s Mitsuru Kirijo!

Something I would have love to have seen more of; Skullgirls cosplay…

At least Ulala was on the scene…

Also met Ulala’s goth-y, rave-y sister…

Banjo, with Kazooie…

Miso, with Katamari…

A pair of Big Daddies…

Men & women in charge of their Destiny…

At New York Comic Con you’ll even virtually every game out there represented, even ones that were cancelled, like StarCraft: Ghost

… Guess this would be a good place to hit that pause button once again. Make sure to come back for the fourth and final installment of NYCC 2014 cosplay, tomorrow!

Time for yet another massive helping of cosplay from NYCC 2014; the initial batch concentrated on mostly guy and gals from the world of comics, so time to move onto memorable faces from the silver screen. And what better place than the New York Comic Con for the Warriors to have a truce with the Baseball Furies?

Kid Miyagi…

Among women, Hunger Games was perhaps the most popular subject to draw cosplay from this year…

It’s Police Constable Nicholas Angel!

And not much else to say about Moaning Myrtle either here, other than she’s awesome…

Yet another excellent use of props, a Lone Starr (from Spaceballs) cosplayer who had a little friend with him…

Seen a few AT-ATs in my time, but never seem a guy cosplaying as a TIE Interceptor before…

Joel and the bots… or is that Mike? It’s too dark to tell…

And speaking of puppets… actually a Muppet…

My fave basketball player, Prince…

The one and only, Jerry Only…

Gender-bending Wayne & Garth are… say it with me… excellent!

The couple that cosplays Trailer Park Boys together, stays together…

Easily the most obscure cosplay of the weekend was this twosome tapping into Pushing Daisies

Xena! Sans Gabrielle, who was the one I had the major crush on, not the Warrior Princess… but still!

And… 2 characters from Game Of Thrones. Don’t know their names; still haven’t watched the show, but once I’m done with True Detective, it’s next…

Who doesn’t love Zedd & Rita? Except the Power Rangers, of course…

Gender swapped April O’Neil and Shredder…

And April once again, getting totally what she deserves…

It’s a match made in heaven: TNNT X Breaking Bad

Hey, it’s the whole gang! The Scooby Gang to exact, and I’m not talking about Buffy’s…

Here we have a sorta nervous looking Dr. Mrs. The Monarch…

And a sorta nervous looking Jem…

Along with another Jem, whose hair is particularly impressive. Dare I say it’s also outrageous! Truly, truly, truly outrageous…

No goofy rubber mask for this Skeletor cosplayer…

He-Man cosplayers, but no He-Man. Though I always liked Ram Man better anyway, so no complaints here…

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more obscure, here comes a Johnny Bravo cosplayer…

… And them, less than five minutes after that, some Fairly OddParents cosplayers!

My childhood hero, Powdered Toast Man…

So right under Katniss, the second most popular character among female cosplayer at this year’s shindig would have to be Tina Belcher…

Bendin’ ain’t easy…

Finally, what I originally thought was a Pink Floyd reference was actually cosplay inspired by Pixar…

… K, that’s all for now. Though once again, there’s a whole lot more to come!
