Q: Who Is The Actor That Was Killed On The Set Of “The Crow”? A: Oprah Winfrey

by Matthew Edward Hawkins

Last night saw the return of my pal Heather on the UCB NYC stage; it’s been almost a year (actually, it was a year and two weeks ago) since she and the rest of her crew was in the Big Apple.

Unfortunately, about half the team was absent, due to various commitments back in LA. Yet the close to midnight edition of The Midnight Show still managed lived up to last year’s insanely awesome performance, even surpassing it!

There were SO many highlights that it’s impossible to choose one, though Heather as a totally horny and goony high school student with an actual chicken wing in her hair is definitely up there. Though I believe what caused myself, Dave, and Peter to truly lose our minds was Herrrmerrn’s School of French Kissing for Dogs?

? Seriously, why The Midnight Show isn’t on Comedy Central or some other network right now is a crying shame (and another sad testament of how piss poor televised comedy is these days).

Anyhow, she has another performance slated for tonight, as part of the 13th annual Del Close Marathon. I am once again reminded of how pitiful it is that, after being such a UCB regular for over a decade and living in (relative) close approximation to the theater, that I’ve yet to attend.

Even though I’m going to be busy all weekend, getting ready for my trip back home, will try my best to catch her 11pm thing. Also, Improvised Anime at 4:30am sounds just about right as well.

Guess I should also mention how, last night after the show, while grabbing drinks with Heather, I told Peter all about Canzo Empyrean. Not surprisingly, he found all that I had to say quite compelling. Best part was Dave simply going “No, everything he’s saying is true.”

Pete’s seen the trailer by now, and perhaps he’ll help spread the word. And maybe then he’ll get contact by Lucien perhaps?
