As those made it out to the MoCCA Art Fest or frequent the blog are well aware of, the latest installment of the my gaming zine didn’t quite make it out as originally planned. But it’s all good, cuz that just means the party wil be even harder at Babycastles!
What’s Babycastles you might be asking? Why, it’s only New York City’s first and only indie arcade! Located on the border of Brooklyn and Queens, and housed in the legendary DIY music and art space known as Silent Barn, that’s where I’ll be celebrating the launch of the newest issue, THREE: FORT90ZINE. Copies will be on-hand (promise), along with a number of games that are mentioned in the brand new issue, as well as ones past, including my very first indie creation, Jizzmoppa. Which, btw, is also being added to the venue’s line-up!
In addition to the launch festivities, the evening will also serve as the latest arcade opening, featuring games from Mark Essen, otherwise known as Messhof, and the creator of this year’s winner for the Independent Games Festival Award for Best Mobile Game Design at GDC 2010, Glow Artisan for the Nintendo DSi, Ramiro Corbetta. Both men will also be giving talks about their work, as will I, plus there’ll be performances by Mark DeNardo and Blue Leader!
As you can see, it’s a party that you simply cannot afford to miss. For additional info, make sure to hit the event’s Facebook page.
