Not to say it’s an open book or anything, but the weird and wacky rom hack scene has been decently documented over the years, though mostly stuff from China, Hong Kong, and the like. But Mother Russia? Different story. So the above, which is an hour plus look at the stuff that’s still being bootlegged for their version of the Genesis, is pure gold imho.
Some of it is par for the course, like Assassin’s Creed actually being that ill-conceived, side-scrolling version of Dragon’s Lair from the mid 90s; half the fun is figuring out what original game is being used as the template before the narrator states its name, which is often the only English words you hear. On that note, there are are NO English subs; deal with it.
Though Top Fighter 2000 starring Ryu, Goku, Michael Jordan, AND Muhammad Ali is something I’d actually like to play, if only for two minutes. Whereas what I’m most fascinated with that ill-conceived, side-scrolling Mortal Kombat offshoot starring Sub Zero, originally for the PSone, which has been recreated with assets from the MD/Genesis version of MK II.
I realize ????? 2.0 The Movie might be a bit difficult to process, especially in one sitting. But hey, it’s Friday afternoon, and for all your folks with day jobs, I’m guessing you’re looking for things to kill time with, til the weekend officially kicks in. Or, you can simply wait and watch it in the same frame of mind I was in last night: piss drunk, around 1am, trying to recover from the mother of all horrible OkCupid dates.
