I forgot to mention this before: here’s a site which lists a bunch of shooters for the Mac, including OS X ports of TUMIKI Fighters and PARSEC47!
Seriously, there goes one major reason for me to get a PC.
Also, another Kenta Cho game, NOIZ2SA, has just been ported to the Dreamcast. And once again, the need to have a PC (so I can properly burn a working disc) has returned.
BTW, I got both pieces of info from the same source, Insert Credit. In fact, I first learned about ABA and Kenta Cho from IC as well. It’s an awesome site that’s the place to be if you’re into gaming’s fringe scene (and I mean the really outer fringe). Plus the forums there are not too bad, though it can get a tad bit too postmodern for my tastes…
Anyway, the primary reason IC is so great is Brandon Sheffield, who’s the guy responsible for all the impossible to find tid-bits of info from the Japanese/Korean indie game scene. Plus the guy splashed my report on the Game Engine 2 event on the main page just a few weeks ago, and I thought that was super rad.
Brandon just got a really sweet gig, but which unfortunately conflicts with his duties at IC. I, like everyone else, wish him the very best, and hope the site stays alive and well as a tribute to all of the hard work he’s put forth. But sadly, it just won’t be the same. Who else is gonna find shit like this, or this, or this, or this, or this?
