I can't wait for VB on DVD... that show is genius. That one episode that parodied the Fantastic Four was too funny. The Human Torch character that was screaming when he was on fire killed me.

Anyway, yes, I fucking hate the Academy.

Relax, Matt, a Venture Brothers DVD was announced before the show even debuted. They ran one of those Adult Swim bumpers with projected DVD release dates, and Venture was scheduled in there. I think it might ship this summer.

Well I still think Lost In Translation was better than Return of the King, and I liked the last LOTR chapter a lot. Though IMHO, the true best film from that year wasn't even nominated in that category: City of Gods.

As for this year, I forgot to mention that Eternal Sunshine is sorely absent, and I'm not just saying that cuz I get all gay for anything Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman.

Thanks for the info regarding documentary qualifications. I can't rag on the Tupac one too much I suppose since I hear it's actually quite good. I just hope Super Size Me doesn't win, that's all. It was seriously one of the worst movies I saw all last year (and that's including Van Helsing).

And I still wish Some Kind Of Monster was acknowledged.

Nah, Lost In Translation wasn't that good. For reasons regarding the qualification of the Tupac documentary, go here: Academy rules. And while Some Kind of Monster didn't make the cut this year, here's a list of all eligible entries in 2004, I'm sure there are plenty of movies here many fans would like to see recognized.
