There always has been an amiga laptop, with built in P4 processor, and ati x850 all-in-wonder. Plus camera built into the top of the button board. There is also a hand made wireless mouse attched by a cord, and a 1,000 gold keyboard.

There are indeed Atari ST laptops, but they're unfortunately rare and usually expensive even for later ST series computers.

<a href="http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=1&c=225" rel="nofollow">Stacy</a> and the much rarer <a href="http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=1&c=283" rel="nofollow">ST Book</a>

There was never an Amiga laptop though.

Hey Matt, great writeup here! good to see you again, glad you enjoyed the show (how could anybody not?)

Just wanted to clarify a couple things in regards to my setup. the qwerty keyboard that i'm using is actually connected to the gameboy not the nes (ps/2 connector spliced to a gb link cable). This lets me play melodies, change instruments, mute/unmute channels, etc. on the gameboy in realtime. Also, while I often do have an old original gameboy with me for my sets, i was actually using a prosound-modded gameboy color at the deitch shows. You might have noticed that the line-out from my gameboy was coming out of the side rather than the bottom where you would expect it to be. This was the additional line-out jack that I added, which gives a much cleaner, louder, bassier sound than the headphone jack. You can find some more info about this mod here: http://www.littlesounddj.com/prosound/

Hey Drx,

First off... holy shit, a bona-fide rock star reading (and commenting) on my site! Such awesomeness! Secondly, thanks for the kind words.

But thirdly, I apologize for the misrepresentation of the facts. Even though I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to old game consoles and their use as musical instruments, I must admit that I'm not that strong when it comes to old computers. In fact, other than an extensive familiarity with Macintoshes, I know very little. I had simply assumed that the programs were running in an emulated environment on a modern PC laptop; I had no idea that there was such a thing as an Atari ST laptop. Does that even make sense? Maybe not, but perhaps that further shows my unfamiliarity with such things. I hope you two were not insulted.

So, when will Bodenstandig rock NYC next? Next time, I will be sure to bring the glow sticks.
