I’m actually heading off to a Circuit City that is prohibiting line-waiting till 11:30pm. Mall security is booting people out till then. Basically at some certain time, it’s gonna be a reverse-le-mans start of people running from their car to the door to line up. It’s gonna be stupid, and peg it at above 50% chance that it will all go horribly wrong. If so, at least I’ll get a good night’s sleep.

Jason: Yeah, you got me. But as I’ve already established with my recent encounter with Nintendo’s online watchgroup, I’m out to make headlines. Though in this case, I’m just going the New York Post/Daily News route.

Steve: Okay, since this is the comments section, maybe its kinda safe to say here, instead of resorting to a locked, freinds only LiveJournal entry, but…

I tried contacting Nintendo for some clarification and I haven’t heard anything. Not even a “no comment” response. Though I was told that I wouldn’t be getting my Wii for a few weeks, because they’ve already depleted their stock. But that could just be for the media, so please don’t quote me on it.

Steve, let me call my press contact at TRU. Hopefully I can get clarification. I too was under the impression that there would be more than enough Wiis for everyone. If not… that would be very bad news.

And how did things snowball like this? I blame the internet to be honest.

So I’m thinking about bailing on the TRU Times Square thing, because I was under the impression that they were going to have many more Wii’s because it’s the official launch destination. Now, according to one of those websites that claims to know the inventory of every store’s amount of Wii’s, it claims that the TS TRU will just have the same 84 Wii’s as every other TRU. So, if there’s no chance of me just casually getting a Wii, I’ll probably just skip it. I mean, it’s just not worth the trouble.

When did video game system get to be this high in demand sorta thing. I don’t remember having such a hard time getting my launch day Dreamcast?
