It's about a freelance toy designer who makes these cute dragons, and is told by the new buyer at a toy company to make them scary... and when he does, they try to kill him. Who still uses a beeper? I do. There are times when I turn my cell phone off and leave the pager on (like movie theaters; it's always on vibrate), and the two have different dead zones. Also pagers are still way cheaper than cell phones, and since they're only one way by themselves parents could give their kids a pager and not worry about them racking up a huge bill abusing it.
