I'm still pissed that Jam With the Band (the US title for Daigasso Band Brothers) was never released even though it was officially announced and had art and everything.

I had Daigasso, but I lost it when I lost all my portable stuff. It's plenty fun on your own, in fact, I only had the chance to play multiplayer a few times. You only need one cart for multiplayer anyways.

It might be too hard for you if you're having a hard time with Rhythm Tengoku since the hard songs are about twenty times harder than the hardest games in Rhythm Tengoku.

Yeah, I guess I should clarify that there are other music based games that allows you to create mush, like Electroplankton. As for Daigasso Band Brothers, I've been interested in a while, but I guess I let it fall by the way-side. Also, don't you need multiple people to really enjoy the game? Though if you and I have it, that makes at least two people...

On a side note, and I'm pretty embrassed to admit this, but I have Rhythm Tengoku, but has such poor rhythm that I can't even get passed the first tutorial part. :(

Matt, get a copy of Daigasso Band Brothers already. THAT is the game where you are truly making the music. It's also better than Guitar Hero.

J:
You're complaining about Nintendo taking your $360? How much did you spend on your Gamecube if you got it at or near launch. $200, plus $50 for SSB:M, $30 for another controller, $20 for a memory card, that's about $300 for the "Gamecube experience." So several years later you're complaining about the Wii costing you $60 more, despite the fact that it comes with a pack-in game/component cables/extra tech for the new controllers? If that sort of price difference is bothering you, maybe you're simply not cut out to be an early adopter.

Yeah because paying $600 for a Playstation 3 is SOOO much more affordable right? With their 60 dollar games and likely $50 controllers. Do some 1st grade math, compare it to the alternatives, and shut the fuck up, you whiny fuck.

J: Well...

The fact that you're willing to totally give up on the system simply because you have to spend extra money to enjoy a two player experience right out of the box just seems silly.

I do see your points, and I think it sucks that the system is not going to be less than $250 as promised, and that its not going to launch ahead of the PS3 as I believe it was indicated (though by only a few days I think, which makes it even a bit more silly, but whatever), but... that's business. Like I said, many seem to be taking Nintendo's decision as a serious affront, which is just plain ridiculous. I know that Iwata was about to touch you with his "Heart of the Gamer" speech, which I guess just goes to show what an effective business person he is, cuz it's his job to sell not just a product, but an idea, a philosophy. And that's often what makes companies thrive regardless of business moves. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Disney... the list goes on of highly successful companies that make glaringly bad mistakes, yet the beat goes on. And Nintendo's on a roll, hence perhaps why they feel they can do this.

And hey, just to remind you and everyone else out there, there was a time when not including a game with your system was a poor business move, but we're sorta used to that at this point. I guess my point is that I just don't see the sky falling with consumers having to blows $40+$20 on an extra controller. Though personally, I feel it would be best just to sold both together at $60, since there might be some legitimate confusion when someone goes out to buy an extra controller for a game and then they realize that it's "incomplete" and they still can't use it.

Anyway, perhaps you too have read the reports stating that Nintendo will be making a profit from each Wii system sold and not taking a massive cut from the cost of production, like their competitors, which is also how its always been done with everyone, including Nintendo at certain points I believe. Which I guess might make people wonder why Nintendo doesn't just bit the bullet of packing in a second controller, but I digress. But it's basically why I wouldn't be too shocked to see Nintendo drop the price of the system, say $25 even $50 a few weeks before Xmas, just for an added push, and one that would totally not hurt their bottom line.

J, you realise that the US dollar is pretty shit right now right? Also, yes, I think that Nintendo would have sold Wii Sports for $50, they did it NES classics.

The most you are going to end up spending is $320 if you are thrifty enough to play Wii sports. You can't give Nintendo shit that you have to buy a game too.

As for the prediction of doom and gloom, Nintendo's stock went up 100 points right after their press conference. I don't think that they're hurting because a few people are pissed. The pricing point is very good on everything but the controller, but since the system is still new, they know their main target is people who can buy a second controller anyways.

If you really want to bitch, complain about Mario Galaxy not coming out in the launch window even.
