Unless we can actively control the weather in some fashion, there's just no real point in going on and on. ... Though it can be argued that the reason why the weather is so fucked up is because people have been irresponsible with the environment... But, as you may have noticed, I have little patience with the MTA for using the heat as a "get out of jail" card for mishandling business, and the same applies to Con Ed. If there is a power outage due to their fuck ups, then people do have a real reason to gripe, since that its something that is controllable by people. In a shameless plug, I'm involved in the solar energy industry, and there's a lot of things Con Ed could do that would prevent future blackouts, and save the city money in the long run.
