I know you didn't mean it, but I spell my name Jonathan(I hate it when people spell it wrong) You really got what I was saying. In any case why not try learning Japanese two of my friends are doing that in college right now, plus I'd love to read about your adventures going to some night school Japanese language class. I think if you plan and really try and want to move to Japan you will and I realize it could take maybe years for you.

Also, I've been reading you blog since the first I am 8-bit art show and you had pics on your site of it. I have to say I'd totally like to meet you one day. That being said a new I am 8-bit will be happening this August in LA at the World of Wonder Gallery( I found out secretly where t was going to be held because one of the artist wrote on their site for upcoming shows) also rumors of animation at the art show have sprung up. So if your in LA in August you should totally go to the show. I met GameJew the last time I attended, he's really kind of boring in person. The year before that I yelled out "Kahn!" while being interviewd by some stupid MTV webshow. You'd probablly enjoy it. Now I'm off to the comic shop.

Hey Johnathan, first off, thanks for the kind words. Lemme ask: do you by chance live in Japan? The funny thing is, just a few days ago, I was talking with my friend Joe Simko, the dude I went to Japan with last year, along with his now wife June (he actually popped the question when we were in Okinanawa!), and as I went over all the bullshit that's been dragging me down (some of which I've already touched upon, but there's always more of course, though its not really fit for public discourse), he talked about seriously moving to Japan, the three of us, since we were so happy there.

I would LOVE to live there, but there are some basic unavoidable hurdles, such as not knowing the language.

As for living in the Big Apple, it's truly one of the greatest places on earth, but it's not for the faint of heart. There's a lot of good... but holy shit, there is some bad. I didn't even touch upon the bullshit that went down with my mail carrier (though I did pass along the gist of it in the forums).

And most importantly, I do believe I haven't really bitched about the part of my life that involves playing games and all the journalistic "duties" that come with the territory. That stuff is fucking awesome, and I love every minute of it. I guess some aspects can be a drag, but I still try to keep everything in perspective, and I honestly don't have much patience when fellow game journos bitch about what we do, which is once again, effectively every teenage boys wet dream.

The way it sounds you should really start thinking about moving to Japan in the next couple of years. It seems you'd be a lot happier and constantly experiencing new stuff. Also it seems from a lot of your pevious entries that New York sucks, but does have a lot of activities and your friends, but I still suggest you really think of moving to Japan.

Also with all the crap that happens in your life it still sounds totally fucking awesome. Try to remember how much you play video games, hang out with friends, and experience events others can't go to. Your life rocks dude. Think of Africa, and how much it sucks to live there or living next to really crappy neighbors that have kids . I have to deal with that, not living in Africa, but the freakin kids.

You're totally right about Indy 4 - I updated my blog straight after checking it out... http://pickassoreborn.vox.com/library/post/the-day-indy-ruined-my-birthday.html - absolutely gutting. It almost felt like the first part was Spielberg motivated and the second part was Lucas motivated.
