Yeah I had the same feeling towards the latest Transformers trailer. Especially the Speilberg implanted sequence at the end where innocent youth always trumps evil. Of course the film is being made not for everyone reading this blog who probably grew up adoring the colorful playthings from Hasbro. Instead the brooding nighttime action, exploding buses and hyper-kinetic transforming animations seem geared for testosterone deficient youth who understand Transformers in the context of Beast Wars.

Bah.

I'll sate my nostalgia with the slightly-above-average DVD release of the original TV series and Movie (to weep once again, with Spike, over Prime's impromptu pyre). I'm probably not going to see this film unless I understand it to lean faithfully to my wistful memories. I'm not holding my breath though. I say use the internet to maintain these remembrances and not to enjoin the cacophony of needless defiance towards Dreamworks, et. al.
