PAX East 2012

by Matthew Edward Hawkins

It’s that time of the year again, in which every gaming dork in the Northeast makes their yearly pilgrimage to… the Penny Arcade Expo, Boston edition! PAX East 2012 is happening, and I will be there once again.

And as usual, I’ll be quite busy; in addition to covering the show on the behalf of both msnbc.com and Guyism, meaning I will have hard hitting investigative reporting and interviews and wacky cosplay pics, I’ll also be lending a hand at the Fangamer booth, as the official Attract Mode rep! Where two hot two items will making their debut…

Which is a secret for the time being, so you’ll just have to come out on and see of yourselves! Though please bring money. For more info on the show, simply open a new tab in your browser with this address.

ICON 31

by Matthew Edward Hawkins

Everybody rumored. Nobody believed. But you see, IT’S TRUE! I am making my long-anticipated, much asked for return to ICON.

Once again, I’ll be out in Long Island, talking about video games for three whole days. Since my departure, much of the show’s e-gaming programming has mysteriously vanished. So I’m hoping to give those who are into Super Mario, Street Fighter, and all that jazz something else to chew on.

For more information on the Northeast’s biggest fantasy, science fiction, and science FACT convention (plus there be tons of furries, yo), just head on over to ICON 31′s homepage.

Kotaku

by Matthew Edward Hawkins

I am now officially contributing to Kotaku! Doing what you ask? Why, I’m their new, semi-unofficial video game movie reviewer! So I’ll be basically be doing the same thing as I did for GameSetWatch when I first started there (RIP).

I also hope to eventually cover chiptune events in NYC and video game stage productions. Again, like I used to do for GSW. My very fist piece, which is about The FP, that wacky Dance Dance Revolution meets Mad Max flick that you might have heard about, can be checked out here.
