The above is the handiwork of German designer Hannes Hummel.
First he took a vinyl figure, got rid of its head, and replaced it with a toy TV/VCR combo. Next he inserted the guts from a Game Boy Advance into the new head, but not without soldering a chip that also allows full motion video playback, web & file browsing, plus support for various console emulators, so it can play more than just GBA games.
Oh, and everything is controlled with a NES controller. Simply amazing isn’t it? BTW, Hummel also made some kind of arcade machine for We Don’t Work We Play, a recently wrapped German exhibition that celebrates handmade type.
No info is available, other than a video featuring super cool German folk having fun with it, which can be seen here. The project will be online soon, Hummel says, and I can’t wait.
Thanks ALBOTAS for the heads up on the Super Gigan!
