I Walked Through The Valley Of The Shadow Of Orpah: New York Comic Con & Super Week 2014 Part 7

by Matthew Edward Hawkins

So here we go; part two of my rundown of the toy aisle at this year’s New York Comic Con! And kicking things off is one of literally seven thousand collaborations that Hello Kitty has taken part of, to celebrate her forthcoming 40th birthday…

And on the completely opposite end of the spectrum are these super “realistic” (as well as super expensive) Mortal Kombat statues…

Hotline Miami figures? Yes please…

I really wish I could remember who did this N64 controller for a head figure…

I also wish King Hippo was in the new Smash Bros as well…

But seriously, I legit feel stupid for not keeping better track of who did what in The Block, which is NYCC’s designer toy section. Though, to be fair, it can be tricky even when you’re there…

Though I can recognize Jason Freeny’s handiwork a mile away, which could be found at the SubUrban Vinyl booth…

Along with… dammit… I forget, sorry…

A bunch of stuff from the My Plastic Heart booth…

Jason Edmiston X Brian Ewing’s show exclusive collab…

The prototype for Kyle Kirwan’s upcoming Willo figure…

A brief tour of Lulubell’s offerings…

And the stuff that caught my eye at Imagination Asylum’s set-up…

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time American Psycho has gotten an action figure…

Sorry, but that honestly doesn’t look like Sam Raimi…

I’m a lumberjack & I’m okay… with being, not a bobble head, but a “premium motion statute”

And my final toy related pics, aren’t toys, but Christmas ornaments?

… So, what’s next? Why, a look at all the pretty things one can either hang on the wall or wear. Tomorrow!
